وَالضُّحَی

Waaldduha

By the morning brightness

وَالَّیلِ اِذَا سَجَی

Waallayli itha saja

And [by] the night when it covers with darkness

مَا وَدَّعَکَ رَبُّکَ وَمَا قَلَی

Ma waddaAAaka rabbuka wama qala

Your Lord has not taken leave of you, [O Muhammad], nor has He detested [you]

وَلَلآخِرَۃُ خَیرٞ لَّکَ مِنَ الاُولَی

Walalakhiratu khayrun laka mina aloola

And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]

وَلَسَوفَ یُعطِیکَ رَبُّکَ فَتَرضَیٓ

Walasawfa yuAAteeka rabbuka fatarda

And your Lord is going to give you, and you will be satisfied

اَلَم یَجِدکَ یَتِیما فََٔاوَی

Alam yajidka yateeman faawa

Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge

وَوَجَدَکَ ضَآلّا فَهَدَی

Wawajadaka dallan fahada

And He found you lost and guided [you]

وَوَجَدَکَ عَآئِلا فَاَغنَی

Wawajadaka AAailan faaghna

And He found you poor and made [you] self-sufficient

فَاَمَّا الیَتِیمَ فَلَا تَقهَر

Faamma alyateema fala taqhar

So as for the orphan, do not oppress [him]

وَاَمَّا السَّآئِلَ فَلَا تَنهَر

Waamma alssaila fala tanhar

And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]

وَاَمَّا بِنِعمَۃِ رَبِّکَ فَحَدِّث

Waamma biniAAmati rabbika fahaddith

But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]
