القيامة

Al-Qiyamah · Meccan · 40 ayat

75 : 1

لَآ اُقسِمُ بِیَومِ القِیَمَۃِ

La oqsimu biyawmi alqiyamati

I swear by the Day of Resurrection

75 : 2

وَلَآ اُقسِمُ بِالنَّفسِ اللَّوَّامَۃِ

Wala oqsimu bialnnafsi allawwamati

And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]

75 : 3

اَیَحسَبُ الاِنسَنُ اَلَّن نَّجمَعَ عِظَامَهُ

Ayahsabu alinsanu allan najmaAAa AAithamahu

Does man think that We will not assemble his bones

75 : 4

بَلَی قَدِرِینَ عَلَیٓ اَن نُّسَوِّیَ بَنَانَهُ

Bala qadireena AAala an nusawwiya bananahu

Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips

75 : 5

بَل یُرِیدُ الاِنسَنُ لِیَفجُرَ اَمَامَهُ

Bal yureedu alinsanu liyafjura amamahu

But man desires to continue in sin

75 : 6

یَسَٔلُ اَیَّانَ یَومُ القِیَمَۃِ

Yasalu ayyana yawmu alqiyamati

He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection

75 : 7

فَاِذَا بَرِقَ البَصَرُ

Faitha bariqa albasaru

So when vision is dazzled

75 : 8

وَخَسَفَ القَمَرُ

Wakhasafa alqamaru

And the moon darkens

75 : 9

وَجُمِعَ الشَّمسُ وَالقَمَرُ

WajumiAAa alshshamsu waalqamaru

And the sun and the moon are joined

75 : 10

یَقُولُ الاِنسَنُ یَومَئِذٍ اَینَ المَفَرُّ

Yaqoolu alinsanu yawmaithin ayna almafarru

Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape

75 : 11

کَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ

Kalla la wazara

No! There is no refuge

75 : 12

اِلَی رَبِّکَ یَومَئِذٍ المُستَقَرُّ

Ila rabbika yawmaithin almustaqarru

To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence

75 : 13

یُنَبَّؤُاْ الاِنسَنُ یَومَئِذِ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَاَخَّرَ

Yunabbao alinsanu yawmaithin bima qaddama waakhkhara

Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back

75 : 14

بَلِ الاِنسَنُ عَلَی نَفسِهِ بَصِیرَۃٞ

Bali alinsanu AAala nafsihi baseeratun

Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness

75 : 15

وَلَو اَلقَی مَعَاذِیرَهُ

Walaw alqa maAAatheerahu

Even if he presents his excuses

75 : 16

لَا تُحَرِّک بِهِ لِسَانَکَ لِتَعجَلَ بِهِٓ

La tuharrik bihi lisanaka litaAAjala bihi

Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an

75 : 17

اِنَّ عَلَینَا جَمعَهُ وَقُرءَانَهُ

Inna AAalayna jamAAahu waquranahu

Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation

75 : 18

فَاِذَا قَرَانَهُ فَاتَّبِع قُرءَانَهُ

Faitha qaranahu faittabiAA quranahu

So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation

75 : 19

ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَینَا بَیَانَهُ

Thumma inna AAalayna bayanahu

Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]

75 : 20

کَلَّا بَل تُحِبُّونَ العَاجِلَۃَ

Kalla bal tuhibboona alAAajilata

No! But you love the immediate

75 : 21

وَتَذَرُونَ الآخِرَۃَ

Watatharoona alakhirata

And leave the Hereafter

75 : 22

وُجُوهٞ یَومَئِذ نَّاضِرَۃٌ

Wujoohun yawmaithin nadiratun

[Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant

75 : 23

اِلَی رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَۃٞ

Ila rabbiha nathiratun

Looking at their Lord

75 : 24

وَوُجُوهٞ یَومَئِذِ بَاسِرَۃٞ

Wawujoohun yawmaithin basiratun

And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted

75 : 25

تَظُنُّ اَن یُفعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَۃٞ

Tathunnu an yufAAala biha faqiratun

Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking

75 : 26

کَلَّآ اِذَا بَلَغَتِ التَّرَاقِیَ

Kalla itha balaghati alttaraqiya

No! When the soul has reached the collar bones

75 : 27

وَقِیلَ مَن رَاق

Waqeela man raqin

And it is said, "Who will cure [him]

75 : 28

وَظَنَّ اَنَّهُ الفِرَاقُ

Wathanna annahu alfiraqu

And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation

75 : 29

وَالتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِ

Wailtaffati alssaqu bialssaqi

And the leg is wound about the leg

75 : 30

اِلَی رَبِّکَ یَومَئِذٍ المَسَاقُ

Ila rabbika yawmaithin almasaqu

To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession

75 : 31

فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّی

Fala saddaqa wala salla

And the disbeliever had not believed, nor had he prayed

75 : 32

وَلَکِن کَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّی

Walakin kaththaba watawalla

But [instead], he denied and turned away

75 : 33

ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ اِلَیٓ اَهلِهِ یَتَمَطَّیٓ

Thumma thahaba ila ahlihi yatamatta

And then he went to his people, swaggering [in pride]

75 : 34

اَولَی لَکَ فَاَولَی

Awla laka faawla

Woe to you, and woe

75 : 35

ثُمَّ اَولَی لَکَ فَاَولَیٓ

Thumma awla laka faawla

Then woe to you, and woe

75 : 36

اَیَحسَبُ الاِنسَنُ اَن یُترَکَ سُدًی

Ayahsabu alinsanu an yutraka sudan

Does man think that he will be left neglected

75 : 37

اَلَم یَکُ نُطفَۃ مِّن مَّنِیّ یُمنَی

Alam yaku nutfatan min manayyin yumna

Had he not been a sperm from semen emitted

75 : 38

ثُمَّ کَانَ عَلَقَۃ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّی

Thumma kana AAalaqatan fakhalaqa fasawwa

Then he was a clinging clot, and [Allah] created [his form] and proportioned [him]

75 : 39

فَجَعَلَ مِنهُ الزَّوجَینِ الذَّکَرَ وَالاُنثَیٓ

FajaAAala minhu alzzawjayni alththakara waalontha

And made of him two mates, the male and the female

75 : 40

اَلَیسَ ذَلِکَ بِقَدِرٍ عَلَیٓ اَن یُحِیَ المَوتَی

Alaysa thalika biqadirin AAala an yuhyiya almawta

Is not that [Creator] Able to give life to the dead
