هَل اَتَیکَ حَدِیثُ الغَشِیَۃِ

Hal ataka hadeethu alghashiyati

Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]

وُجُوهٞ یَومَئِذٍ خَشِعَۃٌ

Wujoohun yawmaithin khashiAAatun

[Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled

عَامِلَۃٞ نَّاصِبَۃٞ

AAamilatun nasibatun

Working [hard] and exhausted

تَصلَی نَارًا حَامِیَۃ

Tasla naran hamiyatan

They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire

تُسقَی مِن عَینٍ ءَانِیَۃ

Tusqa min AAaynin aniyatin

They will be given drink from a boiling spring

لَّیسَ لَهُم طَعَامٌ اِلَّا مِن ضَرِیع

Laysa lahum taAAamun illa min dareeAAin

For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant

لَّا یُسمِنُ وَلَا یُغنِی مِن جُوع

La yusminu wala yughnee min jooAAin

Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger

وُجُوهٞ یَومَئِذ نَّاعِمَۃٞ

Wujoohun yawmaithin naAAimatun

[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure

لِّسَعیِهَا رَاضِیَۃٞ

LisaAAyiha radiyatun

With their effort [they are] satisfied

فِی جَنَّۃٍ عَالِیَۃ

Fee jannatin AAaliyatin

In an elevated garden

لَّا تَسمَعُ فِیهَا لَغِیَۃ

La tasmaAAu feeha laghiyatan

Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech

فِیهَا عَینٞ جَارِیَۃٞ

Feeha AAaynun jariyatun

Within it is a flowing spring

فِیهَا سُرُرٞ مَّرفُوعَۃٞ

Feeha sururun marfooAAatun

Within it are couches raised high

وَاَکوَابٞ مَّوضُوعَۃٞ

Waakwabun mawdooAAatun

And cups put in place

وَنَمَارِقُ مَصفُوفَۃٞ

Wanamariqu masfoofatun

And cushions lined up

وَزَرَابِیُّ مَبثُوثَۃٌ

Wazarabiyyu mabthoothatun

And carpets spread around

اَفَلَا یَنظُرُونَ اِلَی الاِبِلِ کَیفَ خُلِقَت

Afala yanthuroona ila alibili kayfa khuliqat

Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created

وَاِلَی السَّمَآءِ کَیفَ رُفِعَت

Waila alssamai kayfa rufiAAat

And at the sky - how it is raised

وَاِلَی الجِبَالِ کَیفَ نُصِبَت

Waila aljibali kayfa nusibat

And at the mountains - how they are erected

وَاِلَی الاَرضِ کَیفَ سُطِحَت

Waila alardi kayfa sutihat

And at the earth - how it is spread out

فَذَکِّر اِنَّمَآ اَنتَ مُذَکِّرٞ

Fathakkir innama anta muthakkirun

So remind, [O Muhammad]; you are only a reminder

لَّستَ عَلَیهِم بِمُصَیطِرٍ

Lasta AAalayhim bimusaytirin

You are not over them a controller

اِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّی وَکَفَرَ

Illa man tawalla wakafara

However, he who turns away and disbelieves

فَیُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ العَذَابَ الاَکبَرَ

FayuAAaththibuhu Allahu alAAathaba alakbara

Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment

اِنَّ اِلَینَآ اِیَابَهُم

Inna ilayna iyabahum

Indeed, to Us is their return

ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَینَا حِسَابَهُم

Thumma inna AAalayna hisabahum

Then indeed, upon Us is their account
