اَلَم تَرَ کَیفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّکَ بِاَصحَبِ الفِیلِ

Alam tara kayfa faAAala rabbuka biashabi alfeeli

Have you not considered, [O Muhammad], how your Lord dealt with the companions of the elephant

اَلَم یَجعَل کَیدَهُم فِی تَضلِیل

Alam yajAAal kaydahum fee tadleelin

Did He not make their plan into misguidance

وَاَرسَلَ عَلَیهِم طَیرًا اَبَابِیلَ

Waarsala AAalayhim tayran ababeela

And He sent against them birds in flocks

تَرمِیهِم بِحِجَارَۃ مِّن سِجِّیل

Tarmeehim bihijaratin min sijjeelin

Striking them with stones of hard clay

فَجَعَلَهُم کَعَصف مَّاکُولِ

FajaAAalahum kaAAasfin makoolin

And He made them like eaten straw
