الفجر

89 : 1

وَالفَجرِ

Waalfajri

By the dawn

89 : 2

وَلَیَالٍ عَشر

Walayalin AAashrin

And [by] ten nights

89 : 3

وَالشَّفعِ وَالوَترِ

WaalshshafAAi waalwatri

And [by] the even [number] and the odd

89 : 4

وَالَّیلِ اِذَا یَسرِ

Waallayli itha yasri

And [by] the night when it passes

89 : 5

هَل فِی ذَلِکَ قَسَمٞ لِّذِی حِجرٍ

Hal fee thalika qasamun lithee hijrin

Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception

89 : 6

اَلَم تَرَ کَیفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّکَ بِعَادٍ

Alam tara kayfa faAAala rabbuka biAAadin

Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with 'Aad

89 : 7

اِرَمَ ذَاتِ العِمَادِ

Irama thati alAAimadi

[With] Iram - who had lofty pillars

89 : 8

الَّتِی لَم یُخلَق مِثلُهَا فِی البِلَدِ

Allatee lam yukhlaq mithluha fee albiladi

The likes of whom had never been created in the land

89 : 9

وَثَمُودَ الَّذِینَ جَابُواْ الصَّخرَ بِالوَادِ

Wathamooda allatheena jaboo alssakhra bialwadi

And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley

89 : 10

وَفِرعَونَ ذِی الاَوتَادِ

WafirAAawna thee alawtadi

And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes

89 : 11

الَّذِینَ طَغَواْ فِی البِلَدِ

Allatheena taghaw fee albiladi

[All of] whom oppressed within the lands

89 : 12

فَاَکثَرُواْ فِیهَا الفَسَادَ

Faaktharoo feeha alfasada

And increased therein the corruption

89 : 13

فَصَبَّ عَلَیهِم رَبُّکَ سَوطَ عَذَابٍ

Fasabba AAalayhim rabbuka sawta AAathabin

So your Lord poured upon them a scourge of punishment

89 : 14

اِنَّ رَبَّکَ لَبِالمِرصَادِ

Inna rabbaka labialmirsadi

Indeed, your Lord is in observation

89 : 15

فَاَمَّا الاِنسَنُ اِذَا مَا ابتَلَیهُ رَبُّهُ فَاَکرَمَهُ وَنَعَّمَهُ فَیَقُولُ رَبِّیٓ اَکرَمَنِ

Faamma alinsanu itha ma ibtalahu rabbuhu faakramahu wanaAAAAamahu fayaqoolu rabbee akramani

And as for man, when his Lord tries him and [thus] is generous to him and favors him, he says, "My Lord has honored me

89 : 16

وَاَمَّآ اِذَا مَا ابتَلَیهُ فَقَدَرَ عَلَیهِ رِزقَهُ فَیَقُولُ رَبِّیٓ اَهَنَنِ

Waamma itha ma ibtalahu faqadara AAalayhi rizqahu fayaqoolu rabbee ahanani

But when He tries him and restricts his provision, he says, "My Lord has humiliated me

89 : 17

کَلَّا بَل لَّا تُکرِمُونَ الیَتِیمَ

Kalla bal la tukrimoona alyateema

No! But you do not honor the orphan

89 : 18

وَلَا تَحَٓضُّونَ عَلَی طَعَامِ المِسکِینِ

Wala tahaddoona AAala taAAami almiskeeni

And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor

89 : 19

وَتَاکُلُونَ التُّرَاثَ اَکلا لَّمّا

Watakuloona altturatha aklan lamman

And you consume inheritance, devouring [it] altogether

89 : 20

وَتُحِبُّونَ المَالَ حُبّا جَمّا

Watuhibboona almala hubban jamman

And you love wealth with immense love

89 : 21

کَلَّآ اِذَا دُکَّتِ الاَرضُ دَکّا دَکّا

Kalla itha dukkati alardu dakkan dakkan

No! When the earth has been leveled - pounded and crushed

89 : 22

وَجَآءَ رَبُّکَ وَالمَلَکُ صَفّا صَفّا

Wajaa rabbuka waalmalaku saffan saffan

And your Lord has come and the angels, rank upon rank

89 : 23

وَجِاْیٓءَ یَومَئِذِ بِجَهَنَّمَ یَومَئِذ یَتَذَکَّرُ الاِنسَنُ وَاَنَّی لَهُ الذِّکرَی

Wajeea yawmaithin bijahannama yawmaithin yatathakkaru alinsanu waanna lahu alththikra

And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance

89 : 24

یَقُولُ یَلَیتَنِی قَدَّمتُ لِحَیَاتِی

Yaqoolu ya laytanee qaddamtu lihayatee

He will say, "Oh, I wish I had sent ahead [some good] for my life

89 : 25

فَیَومَئِذ لَّا یُعَذِّبُ عَذَابَهُٓ اَحَدٞ

Fayawmaithin la yuAAaththibu AAathabahu ahadun

So on that Day, none will punish [as severely] as His punishment

89 : 26

وَلَا یُوثِقُ وَثَاقَهُٓ اَحَدٞ

Wala yoothiqu wathaqahu ahadun

And none will bind [as severely] as His binding [of the evildoers]

89 : 27

یَٓاَیَّتُهَا النَّفسُ المُطمَئِنَّۃُ

Ya ayyatuha alnnafsu almutmainnatu

[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul

89 : 28

ارجِعِیٓ اِلَی رَبِّکِ رَاضِیَۃ مَّرضِیَّۃ

IrjiAAee ila rabbiki radiyatan mardiyyatan

Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him]

89 : 29

فَادخُلِی فِی عِبَدِی

Faodkhulee fee AAibadee

And enter among My [righteous] servants

89 : 30

وَادخُلِی جَنَّتِی

Waodkhulee jannatee

And enter My Paradise
